Győr Ballet: 'Romeo & Juliet', Mupa, 12 September

It was in Sergei Prokofiev's music that György Vámos found the key to his ballet Romeo and Juliet, which was first premièred at the Rheinoper in 1997. By transplanting it from the Renaissance to the 20th century, the choreographer harmonised the traditions of classical ballet with Prokofiev's insistence that it "depict human emotions”.

On now until 10 September 2017. The group of artists whose name translates as Substitute Thirsters were active from 1984 until 1992. The group was established when the former bans, prohibitions, and various hindrances of Socialism had already begun to abate, and they dispersed as soon as parliamentary democracy was consolidated.
