Gloria Benedikt, an Austrian ballerina whose artistic work strives to bring dance closer to science and politics, and Krisztián Gergye, Hungary's enfant terrible of contemporary dance, are reaching back to the legendary era of the fin de siècle to build a bridge between the art of the present and the progressive spirit of the age preceding the world wars.

Although Sophocles wrote his Oedipus Rex after completing Antigone, the former work deals with the events preceding those of the latter. With expressive scenes following the structure of tragedy and opera, but nevertheless firmly grounded in the present day, the choreography depicts the primal sin and the catharsis that it brings.

Spectral Evidence (2013) - Angelin Preljocaj got his first taste of John Cage from a CD of a vocal composition he received from a friend. 'I always thought I knew Cage's works quite well,' explains the choreographer, who had already created several ballets to the experimental composer's music.
