On Tuesday 6 March the Kiscelli Museum was the fine setting for the annual visual arts and live music show by International Baccalaureate students at the Budapest International School Budapest. The quality of the art and music was impressive, read on for insights from the expat leaders involved.

Tuesday evening saw the annual IB Visual Arts Exhibition and Music Recital. The rationale behind the pieces of art, which included a broad range of influences, mediums and themes, was provided to the visitors prior to them enjoying the music performances.

On until 8 April 2018. The new exhibition at the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Asiatic Arts, titled Sanghay – Shanghai. Parallel Diversities between East and West, links the emblematic oriental metropolis of Shanghai with the Sanghay Bar in Budapest, a perfect encapsulation of the contradictory image of the East that prevailed in Hungary between the wars.

For many people, Bobby McFerrin is ‘the guy who sang Don't Worry, Be Happy'. Though he is indeed the composer of that world famous hit and has been performing the song for more than 30 years, it forms just a tiny part of his musical career - as will become evident during the concert.

Running for a decade now, Budapest Jazz Club is the longest active and currently the oldest jazz club in Budapest.
