Metro M2 Will Not Serve Kossuth Tér For 3 Months

For a period of about three months from the start of this December, metro line M2 will not serve the Kossuth Lajos tér M in either direction, due to the demolition of the MTESZ building. From Deák Ferenc tér, Kossuth Lajos tér can be reached by replacement bus M2A. Additionally, BKK provides a new shuttle-boat service, line D2 between Batthyány tér and Kossuth Lajos tér.

Two metro trains collided on Budapest’s M2 line early on Monday, injuring ten people, Máté Kisdi, a spokesman for Budapest’s disaster management authority said. The accident happened after one train travelling in the direction of Déli railway station caught up with and ran into the back of another. Both trains were carrying passengers.
