Six months after the ban on Sunday shopping, more than two-thirds of the population disagree with the law, according to a poll conducted by Ipsos. The survey found that the most people do their regular Sunday shopping on other days, while one-fourth of the respondents choose smaller stores. The relevant law allows all shops to be open on the last four Sundays before Christmas.

According to a recent survey conducted by K&H Bank, Hungarians spend 43 thousand forints (approx. €140) on average during Christmas shopping season, including 29 thousand forints spent on gifts and presents.
