One of central Europe’s topmost tourism fairs, Travel 2018, featuring 280 exhibitors from 23 countries, opened in Budapest on Thursday, with Morocco and the Hungarian spa town of Hévíz, in western Hungary, receiving top billing.

From the organisers: The first day of the Travel 2018 exhibition will be devoted solely to tourism experts. The themes are focused on the subject of digital tourism, providing Hungarian digital start-ups with a chance to introduce themselves as well as to summarize the experiences on the use of social media tools for tourism purposes.

On until 8 April 2018. The new exhibition at the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Asiatic Arts, titled Sanghay – Shanghai. Parallel Diversities between East and West, links the emblematic oriental metropolis of Shanghai with the Sanghay Bar in Budapest, a perfect encapsulation of the contradictory image of the East that prevailed in Hungary between the wars.

An exhibition of the entire Seuso treasure trove has opened at the Szent István Király Museum in Székesfehérvár, the first stop of a travelling exhibition to the Hungarian countryside.
Sausage Festival In Budapest, 13 - 15 October

This annual festival featuring 250 types of spiced up meat will be held at the Hungarian Railway Museum this year. As well as lots of porky specials available along several 'Sausage Streets', there will be family programs, folklore shows, 'nostalgic music programs' and dance, plus apparently presentations of enormous sausages, during this three day special Hungarian gastro event.
Jozef Suchoža: 'Interface', Műcsarnok

On until 12 November. Slovakian sculptor Jozef Suchoža (1978) lives in Borsi (Borša) and teaches at the art academy of Besztercebánya (Banská Bystrica). After participating in numerous exhibitions, he is now appearing with his first large-scale solo exhibition, through which he wishes to present a summary of his oeuvre thus far.
