This year’s traditional Oktoberfest, Budapest’s own version of the famous Bavarian beer celebration, will run over two weekends and at two different venues.

First, between 29 September and 1 October, original Festbiers straight from Munich, traditional music and Oktoberfest gifts await at Fröccsterasz on Erzsébet tér and the Paulaner Beer Garden & Cinema on the Margaret Island Gastro Promenade, Champs Island and Wonder Island.

Then the Fröccsterasz hosts the Bavarian merriment once more on 6-8 October. Tap beers will include original Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest brews. Festivities run between 5pm-10pm on the Fridays, from noon and 2pm on the Saturdays and Sundays at Fröccsterasz, and from noon each day on Margaret Island.

Admission is free and there’s no obligation to buy a festival mug.
