The Hungarian Dance University (HDU) as the first education institution of Hungary to train dance-artists, choreographers and dance pedagogues in several dance styles, organizes an international ballet competition in order to attract attention to the Hungarian dance profession.

The Budapest Ballet Grand Prix welcomes talented young dancers from all over the world to test their excellence, talent and dedication. BBGP2024 offers them many opportunities to advance in their dance careers. From Japan to America, competitors from professional schools and ensembles show their best in three age groups, both in classical and contemporary dance.

The semi-finals and finals will be hosted by the National Dance Theatre Budapest, and the closing Gala will be held in the Palace of Arts as the „cherry on top” of the BBGP2024. In the gala programme the winners of various categories and the students of HDU will also perform.
