Jazz, opera, Broadway musicals: Morgan James is at home in all three. Her amazing voice, enthralling personality and striking on-stage presence were enough to convince Scott Bradlee to invite her to appear in Postmodern Jukebox videos and tour with the band from 2014.
She dedicated her first album, recorded in New York’s Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, to Nina Simone. In 2016, she covered the entire Joni Mitchell record Blue, and The Beatles’ White Album received the same treatment two years later.
Next up, Morgan James is being added to the long list of leading female singers from the world of jazz who have collaborated with the Budapest Jazz Orchestra, and they are promising an unforgettable co-production for the closing concert of the JazzTime festival.
