From 24–26 October, the National Bird Festival returns to Budapest, taking over the Lurdy Conference and Event Center with a vibrant celebration of nature and wildlife. The event showcases an extraordinary collection of parrots, cockatoos, and other exotic bird species from across the globe, gathered under one roof for three lively days.

Visitors can not only admire these striking birds up close but also take part in an international bird beauty contest, where both the expert jury and the audience can cast their votes. There’s also the chance to pose for photos with spectacular macaws — a popular highlight for both adults and children.

Beyond its visual appeal, the festival aims to promote awareness of biodiversity through interactive shows, creative displays, and educational activities suitable for all ages.

On Saturday 26 October, the closing day includes a partner event — the Toy of the Year Play Day — offering families an extra reason to visit. Children can test this year’s most popular and award-nominated toys, enjoy live concerts, magic and dance performances, face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon art, craft workshops, and plenty of other fun activities.
