Majority Of Hungarians Reject Flat Tax
"Some 70% of Hungarians oppose the flat tax, as it is the least popular of the government’s economic measures, according to a January survey by Median. More than half of those interviewed, 52%, were pleased that Hungary contacted the IMF, up from 44% gauged in December.

That was the most popular measure, followed by the special taxes on large companies, research project director Laszlo Beck told Inforadio.

The so-called “war of economic independence” policy was supported by only 30% of respondents in January.

More than two-thirds of those interviewed supported Hungary's EU membership. Backing was highest among Fidesz voters, and even two-thirds of Jobbik supporters favoured Hungary's EU membership.

Median interviewed 1,200 people in December, January and February."
