Chain Bridge Closed To Foot Traffic
The Chain Bridge and its surroundings will be closed to pedestrians for at least two years from today as renovation work begins.

The pavement on the bridge must be closed so that the contractor can prepare the work, tests and surveys without interruption.

Public transport is free between Clark Ádám tér and Széchenyi István tér, the Buda and Pest ends of the bridge.

The Chain Bridge remains open to vehicular traffic until mid-June.

According to plans, cars will be able to cross the bridge again by December 2022.

More regarding the renovation available here (in Hungarian).
