Two Hungarian Wineyards Named Amoung World’s Top 50
International experts have just selected two Tokaj wineries to be among the best in the world for 2023.

The World’s Best Vineyards awards showcases the finest destinations for wine tourism, highlighting the most beautiful and diverse around the globe.

Two from the famed Hungarian terroir of Tokaj were included in the Top 50.

This global selection ranges from modern architectural wonders and UNESCO-protected ancient cellars, to Michelin-starred restaurants and family-owned landmarks.

The Tokaj-based Szepsy Winery secured 35th position on the list. The estate covers 52 hectares, primarily located near Mád and is considered one of Tokaj’s most iconic family-owned wineries.

Another Tokaj winery, Disznókő, made it to the 45th spot, striving to preserve the area’s winemaking traditions to the fullest extent possible.

Argentine winery Catena Zapata took top spot, followed by the Spanish Bodegas de los Herederos del Marqués de Riscal winery in second place. The third slot was taken by Chilean vineyard, VIK.

The judging panel consists of over 500 leading experts, sommeliers and travel specialists, who submit their nominations based on various criteria.
