Prices Unveiled at Time Out Market Budapest Ahead of Opening this Saturday
Budapest’s new culinary destination, Time Out Market, will officially open on Saturday in the renovated Corvin Palace at Blaha Lujza tér.

The food market, the first of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, will feature a range of dishes from street food to fine-dining plates at 11 restaurants and three bars on a 2,500m2 area.

The market is positioned as a central, experiential gastronomic destination in Budapest, combining multiple chefs, culinary styles, and premium ingredients, Pénzcentrum writes after journalists were given a preview of the site on Tuesday.

Starters and lighter dishes will cost some HUF 2,500-4,000, main courses HUF 3,500-8,000, and in the premium category, prices will be in the HUF 8,000-12,000 range.

Cocktails will be priced at HUF 3,000-3,950, glasses of wine at HUF 1,350-1,950, and pezsgő from HUF 1,950 per decilitre.

A Feast for Every Taste & Budget

One of the appealing aspects of Time Out Market Budapest is its commitment to “affordable luxury”. While visitors can splurge on premium dishes and special culinary adventures, each restaurant is required to offer a reasonably priced lunch menu.

Time Out Market Budapest restaurants include Anyukám Mondta (Italian), Pingrumba (Eastern flavours), 101 Bistro (Taiwanese), Szaletly (contemporary Hungarian), Canteen by Pesti István, Bigfish, and Tuning Burger.

Here's a quick look in more detail at three of the stand-out eateries, plus one bar offering special cocktails according to Time Out.

M’EAT by Jenő Rácz

The new antipasti and grill concept by Michelin-star chef Jenő Rácz will bring a decidedly Mediterranean atmosphere to the Corvin Palace. M’EAT is all about light, social dining: premium Hungarian hams, salamis and cheeses, freshly sliced in front of you; or homemade pâté or foie gras with brioche.

LIRA by Essência

The Michelin-starred team at Essência promises accessible fine dining. LIRA, owned by chef Tiago Sabarigo and sous chef Miguel Diniz, is both elegant and straightforward. Its menu was created especially for Time Out Market and features beefsteak tartare with oyster emulsion, homemade tagliatelle with black mussels and smoked seaweed butter, and almond cake with gorgonzola ice cream.

Hai Nam Pho

One of the most famous Vietnamese restaurants in Budapest returns to where it all began 20 years ago in the 8th district. Second-generation Vietnamese-Hungarian siblings Vo Son Hai and Nam bring authentic pho soup, homemade noodles and nostalgic family flavours, spiced up with their own personal stories.

Absolut Bar

One of the world’s most renowned premium vodka brands will be launching an exclusive cocktail bar at Time Out Market Budapest. From the classic Cosmopolitan and Espresso Martini to unique creations, everything here will reflect their Born to Mix philosophy: a meeting of cultures and flavours in one glass.

Live Music included too

Alongside food and drink at Time Out Market Budapest, there’ll be jazz performances, piano evenings, DJ sets, plus a major concert each month.
