The government is relaxing rules with a view to boosting wind power generation, the energy ministry said on Friday. The new rules reduce the protective radius around wind farms to 700 meters in line with European norms and it will be easier to obtain a permit from Jan 1, the ministry said in a statement.

The annual consumer price index could fall below 6% by the end of the year, the disinflationary trend that started in 2023 will continue early next year and inflation will return to the central bank’s tolerance band in 2025, András Balatoni, a central bank director, told a press conference, presenting the National Bank of Hungary’s December Inflation Report.
