The International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its projection for Hungary’s GDP growth this year to 4.6% in its fresh World Economic Outlook. The projection was raised from 3.6% in the previous forecast released in April.

The average gross monthly wage for full-time workers in Hungary rose by an annual 10.7% to 362,595 forints (EUR 1,079) in July, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Net wages grew at the same pace, reaching 241,126 forints.

Finance Minister Mihály Varga has said the 2020 budget will be geared towards families. In an interview to public radio on Sunday, Varga said the government next week will submit to parliament a family-friendly budget with the aim of reversing the declining population.
