The name of the Robert Burns International Foundation Sponsor of the Year was revealed to a crowd of 75,000 on January 14, 2012, with Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of Manchester United Football Club, and the RBIF’s Honorary President, presenting the trophy to David Wood, commercial director of Tesco Global Áruházak Zrt.

Just like other expat kids in Hungary, on Monday morning this week Shiloh, Pax and Maddox all attended class in Budapest. Unlike most expat children though the Jolie-Pitt kids had former-SAS bodyguards, as well as police and paparazzi, around them at the start of school. Yes, it’s time again to offer praise to those young people of Hungary brave enough to step up and compete in the annual English Speaking Union’s Public Speaking Competition. This year’s event was held on April 15 in the British Embassy’s Old Banking Hall, and was witnessed by an audience of locals and expats interested in the competition.
