The Undertaker’s Children – Supernatural Horror Film Set to be Filmed in Budapest
In the heart of Europe, amidst the historic vistas of Budapest, a new film project is stirring significant interest. “The Undertaker’s Children,” directed by Alex Gayner and written by Natasha Le Petit, is scheduled to commence production in April 2024, with locations set across Budapest, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.

The film, inspired by true events, casts Ann Dowd as Mrs. Johanna Hall, a reclusive undertaker whose life takes a dark turn when she reluctantly becomes the guardian of two children, played by newcomers.

These children, Karline, 14, and her younger brother, Walter, 8, are thrust into Mrs. Hall‘s care after the death of a distant relative. Zosia Mamet portrays Sabine Thomas, a compassionate child welfare nurse who becomes entangled in the children’s plight.

As the plot unfolds, Mrs. Hall‘s imposing and cold demeanor creates a hostile living environment for Karline and Walter. The tension escalates when Karline defies Mrs. Hall, and Walter‘s peculiar behavior becomes increasingly alarming.

The narrative takes a sinister twist as Karline discovers Mrs. Hall‘s grim intentions for the children and reaches out to Sabine for rescue. The climax confronts the siblings with a horrifying truth, thrusting them into a battle against a malevolent force.

The film’s exploration of themes such as family, survival, and the supernatural, coupled with its atmospheric European settings, are expected to resonate well with audiences seeking depth and darkness in their cinematic experiences.
