UN Condemns Criminalisation Of Homelessness In Hungary
"Two UN human rights experts have called on Hungary to review a law which criminalises homelessness and threatens those living on the street with imprisonment, Népszabadság reports.

“Those who have no option but to live on the street are now in danger of criminal sanctions,” said Magdalena Sepulveda, the UN rapporteur for extreme poverty and human rights.

She issued a joint report on Wednesday with Raquel Molnik, the UN rapporteur on the right to housing.

“Parliament has stigmatised tens of thousands as potential criminals and the law inflicts discrimination on the poor,” they wrote."
