Hungarian Students Network (HaHa) Admits Receiving US Help
The Students Network (HaHa) admitted to Klubrádió on Monday that it has received American assistance, but said that did not include political influence. Activist Andrea Kóbor told the radio station that an NGO had offered advice, as reported by Magyar Nemzet after the newspaper obtained the movement’s entire internal correspondence.

Magyar Nemzet reported on Monday that eight American instructors have advised the students on how to exert pressure on decision-makers.

The threads lead from radical left-wing organisations to Hungarian-born businessman George Soros, the newspaper said.

The correspondence reportedly reveals that the students are preparing more demonstrations and plan to occupy government offices in February.

Kóbor told Klubrádió that Magyar Nemzet, even in possession of internal correspondence, found nothing that would specifically bind HaHa to parties, politicians or other political forces.

HaHa presented a list of demands on public and higher education to the government last year, with an ultimatum that expires on February 10.
