Huge Demand For Prefab Houses
Demand for prefabricated houses has tripled over the last three years, according to József Kárpáti of the construction company association Évosz.

Further expansion is limited only by the labour supply, he told Magyar Idők.

Prefabricated home manufacturers are not accepting any contracts for 2018, as their order books are full, he noted.

Kárpáti estimated that 900 prefabricated houses will be erected this year, three times as many as in 2015.

A skilled worker now costs Ft 15,000-20,000 per day, up from Ft 8,000-10,000 two or three years ago, he pointed out.

The gross price of prefabricated houses has risen from Ft 220,000-250,000 per square metre two years ago to Ft 280,000-320,000 now.
