US Ambassador Pressman Joins Pride Parade in Pécs

David Pressman of the US and other ambassadors walked in the front row at the Pécs Pride Parade on Saturday carrying a poster with the words “diplomats for equality”.
Pressman reported in a Facebook post that he also visited various religious communities, including Catholics and Muslims, at their religious services.
Pressman said he recently took part in Rosh Hashana celebrations at the Frankel utca synagogue belonging to Mazsihisz and also discussed recent developments with members of the Orthodox Jewish Religious Community.
In the coming days he will join members of the Sim Shalom and the Dohány utca synagogue religious community to mark Yom Kippur together.
Pressman said it was touching to join those courageous Hungarians who paraded for freedom and dignity at the Pécs Pride, and told RTL Híradó that religion must encourage such values as tolerance, acceptance and love.
