You're Fired: Orbán Unexpectedly Sacks Head Of Military Security Service in Hungary
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has relieved Lieutenant General János Béres of his duties as the director general of the Military National Security Service, the defence ministry said.

Béres will leave the post on Nov 5, the ministry said.

Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky thanked Béres for his service, and proposed General Norbert Tajti for the post, the statement said.

Telex reports that Béres has served in Romania, Iraq, USA and China. Between 2008 and 2012 he was on a military diplomatic mission in China. After that he became the deputy intelligence director of KNBSZ. He then served as director of the institution between 2018 and 2023.

No public explanation has been given about why Orbán fired Béres as the director general of the Military National Security Service in Hungary.
