Free Parking in Budapest Between 23rd December – 1st January 2024
It is already a tradition that parking is free in the capital around Christmas. The most important thing is that Saturday, December 23, is a public holiday, meaning no parking fees need to be paid in areas where this is usually required on weekdays.

According to information from BKK, 'there is no need to pay parking fees in parking zones from the start of business on December 24th (which, incidentally, is a Sunday this year) until the closing of business on January 1st of 2024 (which is a Monday).

There are exceptions to this:  parking is chargeable between December 24th  and January 1st in the following road sections and areas:

* in District I, on Dísz tér, on the section of Hunyadi János út between Szabó Ilonka utca and Dísz tér and on the section of Palota út between Dísz tér and Lovas utca;
* on Margitsziget in the northern parking lot and hotel waiting areas;
* in the Rákóczi tér underground car park;
* in the Újpest-Városkapu P+R parking lot;
* in the Hűvösvölgy P1 P+R parking lot;
* in the Kőbánya-Kispest P+R parking lot;
* in the KÖKI Terminal P+R parking garage;
* in the Etele P1 P+R parking lot;
* in the Etele P2 P+R parking lot;
* in the Őrmező P1 P+R parking lot;
* in the Őrmező P2 P+R parking lot;
* in the P+R car park in the Pillangó Street;
* Örs vezér tere in the P+R parking lot.

Bama.hu reports that parking will be free in Pécs between the two holidays.

This means that drivers do not have to pay for parking in parking zones from 1:00 PM on December 23rd until 8:00 AM on January 2nd, 2024.

The Boccaccio car park will also be free from December 23rd to January 1st.
