If you think about it, Hungarians are not the only people to be partial to lions, as they are like book ends on gateposts of villas in suburbia and guardians of monuments all over the world. Everywhere you go there are crests and doorknockers and gargoyles and fountains with the Lion King theme.

Dunapest Festival has been an exciting series of cultural and urban events in Budapest since 2016. The festival adds a new color to the domestic cultural palette of the city. The aim of Dunapest is to make the visitors and locals rediscover the Danube, to feel and use its potential, diversity and beauties.

Sustainable CEU held their annual Earth Day event on Friday afternoon. Represented among others, was the Satyor organic vegetable box scheme, Ecoservice, Messzelato, and Treehugger Dan's with Vedegylet. We served up free Fair Trade organic coffee and tea to the students and teachers, while explaining Fair Trade to anyone that inquired.

"The open-air concert series Moonlight Nights began in 1999 on the initiative of Endre Hegedűs, a Liszt Prize winning piano artist, and his wife. Their aim was to offer relaxing night concerts that provide real entertainment to local and foreign music lovers, in the heart of Budapest, after the hot hours of summer day,s in the open air.
Embassies In Hungary Going Green And Fair Trade

"In January, the Dutch Embassy became the first embassy in Hungary to go Fair Trade. The embassy just placed their first order of Treehugger Dan's Fair Trade Kafequo coffee (55% arabica/45% robusta). The beans come from Peru and Tanzania, and are mixed and roasted by Caffe Agust in Italy. This move was quickly followed by the Gambian Embassy.
