Socialists In Hungary Want To Extend Wage Limit
"The Ft 2 million monthly salary limit and the 98% tax on severance pay above Ft 2 million should be extended to employees of all state and local government run companies, Socialist caucus director József Tóbiás told reporters on Sunday.

He said his party will put forward a formal proposal to that effect.

The prime minister neglected to mention that the leaders of state companies are exempt from the ceiling imposed by the new government, Tóbiás said, adding sarcastically that the rapid and at times insufficiently planned legislation might have prevented Fidesz from noticing this.

Prime ministerial spokesman Péter Szijjártó retorted on Sunday that the Orbán cabinet had solved that issue a long time ago, so the Socialists are months late with their proposal.

He said million-forint salaries that ruffle ordinary people’s sense of justice have considerably dropped in the state company sphere."
