Hungary's Ombudsman Asks Court To Review Legal Definition Of Family
Fundamental rights ombudsman Máté Szabó is turning to the Kúria seeking to protect equal rights for different forms of families. Legislation must not exclude existing, functioning and legally recognised relationships from the notion of family, as it could challenge the rights of children at times, he argued.

An individual had appealed to the ombudsman because the act on the protection of families names marriage as the sole basis for the family.
