Free Concert by Rock/Jazz 'Supergroup' in Buda Castle on 21 August
- 27 May 2025 9:37 AM

The concert celebrates Leslie Mandoki and his band's fifty-year history of music and the desire for freedom. During the evening, in addition to the band's best-known songs, the Soulmates' latest album, A Memory of Our Future, released last year, will also be performed.
Organisers say the concert is a live musical self-portrait that encompasses the events of five decades in a single evening.
They recalled that Leslie Mandoki's journey, which started at the Bem Club, eventually led him not only to the top of the international charts, but also to the world's biggest stages, but " the roots, the ideas, the friendships and the first sounds still echo in every melody to this day".
In the past 43 years, 72 gold records and several platinum records have been produced at the Red Rock Studio he founded.
The drummer, songwriter, singer and producer, who has lived in Germany and California since 1975, founded his band, Mandoki Soulmates, in 1992.
The band features and plays with many world-famous musicians, including Ian Anderson and Al Di Meola, who have been members of the band since the beginning, along with Mandoki.
The Soulmates musicians have won more than 35 Grammy Awards and have sold over 350 million records.
Mandoki Soulmates is a creative alliance where different generations, genres and cultures intertwine and together build bridges between people, societies, cultures, views and continents, the statement highlighted.
In addition to Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and Al Di Meola, Soulmates members include world stars such as Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Till Brönner, Bill Evans, Cory Henry, Richard Bona, Steve Bailey, Simon Phillips (Toto), Tony Carey (Rainbow), Nick van Eede (Cutting Crew), and John Helliwell, Jesse Siebenberg and Mark Hart (all three of Supertramp).
