Output of Hungary’s construction industry fell by an annual 16.2% in June, the Central Statistical Office said. The pace of the decline slowed from 25.8% in May and 30.0% in April. Output of the buildings segment rose by 7.4%, mainly on the construction of industrial buildings, but also lifted by the construction of schools and sports facilities.
Retail Turnover Rebounds After Sunday Shopping Restrictions Lifted

Large retailers have recovered from the drop in revenue caused by Sunday shopping restrictions, the daily Magyar Nemzet said on Wednesday. Since the restrictions were lifted in April, turnover has rebounded. Retail chain Spar told the paper that 9 percent of revenue is generated on Sundays.

Home sales in Hungary could rise to 155,000 this year from 130,000- 135,000 in 2015, according to an analysis by Otthon Centrum, which runs a franchise network of real estate brokers. New homes could make up 3-4% of the total, Otthon Centrum said.

Adjusted for seasonal effects, Hungary’s net external financing capacity was 2.502 billion Euros or 9% of quarterly GDP in the third quarter, balance of payment data published by the National Bank of Hungary on Wednesday show. The adjusted Q3 surplus was down from the second quarter when it reached 2.621 billion Euros. It was up 668 million Euros from a year earlier.
