Record Season for Balaton Ferry & Pleasure Craft Company

Bahart, which operates ferries and pleasure craft on Lake Balaton, carried 1,630,000 passengers in the summer, up 5pc from a year earlier, the company said.
Passenger numbers on car ferries rose 47pc to 904,000 and fares on passenger ferries climbed 6pc to 726,000, lifted by more frequent service and discounts for families with children.
For the period January-August, passenger numbers reached 2,040,000, including 1,220,000 on car ferries and 820,000 on passenger ferries. Passengers transported 167,000 bicycles on Bahart vessels, up 13pc.
