Yamato, The Drummers Of Japan In Budapest, 29 - 30 October

The place where Yamato performs is the space where people gather in the resounding beat of drums. The moments are born when the sound created by Yamato resonates with the pulse of everybody present. Ripples of pulses and gently overlap. The sound of drums, which were made of animal skin and ancient trees, some of are more than 400 years old, as the pulse or the Heartbeat (Shin-on).
The central to Yamato's production is, of course, the Wadaiko drumming. Yamato was founded in 1993 by Masa Ogawa. In Japanese, the word “”wadaiko” translates as “Japanese drum” and “Yamato' was the former name of the city of Nara, the group's bithplace. Since its creation, the group has made over one thousand live performances to over one million people in more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
In the beginning of 2012 they will introduce their new program “Gamushara” to the audience in Hungary. “Gamushara” means to be completely absorbed by the pursuit of one goal, without thinking about what's going to happen next. Once you'e found your dream, your vision of future try not to think about it too much.
Just go off in the direction of that purpose, completely in the moment. It is all about ecstatic enthusiasm.
