Demolition Of Petőfi Csarnok Begins
Work has begun on demolishing the Petõfi Csarnok concert hall in the City Park ahead of construction of the Museum Quarter, project director Attila Sághi said on Saturday. The arena was Budapest’s first youth entertainment centre when it opened in 1985. It was closed in 2015.

Elsewhere in the park, Sághi said renovation of the Olof Palme house will begin in the summer.

The National Museum Restoration and Storage Centre will be built on Szabolcs utca as part of the Liget Budapest project.

The 38,000m2 centre will be built at a cost of Ft 18.7 billion by July 2018.
