PM Orbán To Attend Shanghai Trade Expo

On Monday, Orbán is scheduled to address a plenary session of an international business forum taking place at the venue of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), Bertalan Havasi said. He will then inspect the expo’s top pavilions together with China’s President Xi Jinping and other delegation leaders.
Orbán and Xi are also scheduled to sit down for bilateral talks on Monday, Havasi added.
On Tuesday, the prime minister will open Hungary’s pavilion at the CIIE, after which he will hold talks with Chinese business leaders. Orbán will be accompanied on his trip by Péter Szijjártó, the foreign affairs and trade minister, Innovation and Technology Minister László Palkovics and István Nagy, the farm minister.
More than 130 countries and regions are set to attend the CIIE which opens on Nov. 5 and runs until Nov. 10. Some 2,800 companies will be present at the expo.
Hungary is one of the guests of honour at the event alongside Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Vietnam and the United Kingdom. Organisers expect to draw more than 80,000 companies as buyers and some 300,000 visitors.
