Hungarian National Bank Buys Protected Painting By English Artist For HUF 240 Million
The MNB has purchased The Rape of Europa, an 1881 painting by English artist Walter Crane for Ft 240 million from seller András Szánthó, the property manager subsidiary MNB-Ingatlan announced on the EU public procurement website on Tuesday.

The contract was signed on November 23.

The Cultural Goods Committee declared the painting as protected in 2008, because of the rarity of British artworks in Hungary.
