New List of Hungary's '"100 Richest" Revealed
Lőrinc Mészáros, with assets estimated to be worth Ft 660 billion, continues to be the richest person in Hungary, the 2023 summary of the publication The 100 Richest Hungarians reveals.

He is followed in the rankings by OTP Bank CEO-chairman and Hungarian Football Association president Sándor Csányi with assets estimated at Ft 610 billion.

In third place is Zsolt Felcsuti, majority owner of MPF Holding, whose assets have been estimated at Ft 460 billion.

In fourth place is György Gattyán with an estimated Ft 366 billion, followed by:

Tibor Veres with Ft 320 billion,
László Szijj with Ft 280 billion,
Dániel Jellinek with Ft 276 billion,
László Bige with Ft 233 billion,
Gábor Széles with Ft 208 billion
and Lajos Kasza with Ft 147.5 billion.

The list of most influential Hungarians, based on votes cast by ten political analysts, is headed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, followed by Csányi, Antal Rogán and Mészáros.

Only three opposition politicians are on this list, with Budapest mayor Gergely Karácsony ranked 36th, Ferenc Gyurcsány 40th and his wife Klára Dobrev in 50th place.
