Hungarian Footballer Antal Dunai Recognised with Lifetime Achievement Award at World Fair Play Gala
Hungary’s government will submit a proposal to the United Nations in the first quarter of next year on designating May 19 World Fair Play Day, Levente Magyar, the deputy foreign minister, said.

The government trusts that the UN General Assembly will approve the proposal before the Paris 2024 Olympics, Magyar said at the International Fair Play Committee’s World Fair Play Awards gala.

He said this was important because fair play promoted cooperation for solidarity, for which there was a greater need “than ever before”.

At the ceremony, Hungarian footballer Antal Dunai was recognised with a lifetime achievement award, while the volunteers of the 2023 World Athletics Championships received a Fair Play Special Award.
