S/ALON Budapest Interior Design Fair, Budapest Aréna, 20 - 22 September
S/ALON BUDAPEST presents the latest interior design trends at the Budapest Arena from 20-22 September. For three days, the world of inspiring homes featured in interior design magazines will be within reach!

September offers an exciting weekend full of experiences for interior design lovers. S/ALON BUDAPEST interior design trends exhibition is for everyone who loves design, is open to young designers and looking for concrete solutions and inspiration for practical and creative home renovation and building solutions.

You can also meet a wide range of furnished spaces, design novelties never seen before in Hungary and international designers. Not only eye-catching interiors can you see, but visitors can also try out the products on display and order from exhibitors.

Trend following wall and floor coverings

The trend show features a range of wallpaper, wall paint, flooring and wallcovering brands and textiles that you won't find anywhere else, and unlike in the manufacturers' showrooms, product selection is easy: in the furnished living spaces of S/ALON BUDAPEST, there's more than just a small sample to choose from.

Visitors can try, touch, and experience the ambience of a bathroom or bedroom, or to spend time in a living room where they can experience what it would be like to live with these products. Trend forecasts for 2025 predict that plain walls will be replaced by textured surfaces, patterned wall coverings and decorated ceilings, with a host of new features and uniqueness compared to the usual solutions, which will be on show live at the interior trend exhibition.

Exhibitors will showcase bamboo made of natural materials, metallic textiles, but also stone-effect wallpapers and some specialties such as wallpapers and textiles with LED, Swarovski crystals or leather-effect wallpapers and textiles.

Solutions for lighting

Anyone who has been to S/ALON BUDAPEST knows that one of the special features of the exhibition is that there is no general lighting in the hall, each space and stand has its own unique lighting solution. This makes the lighting fixtures and the objects that provide the light source stand out much more than in classic showrooms. In the spaces of the future, interior design wants to appeal to all our senses, not just the visual.

Sensory design incorporates textures, smells, sounds and lighting to create an immersive environment. Think soft carpets, scented candles, soothing music, and adjustable and programmable mood lighting. This time, the home trend exhibition won't just be hundreds of lamps hanging on the wall, it's a place to experience the lighting effect of lighting as it would be in a real room or in our homes.

The theme of this year's design competition is also light, so this time there will be even more innovations and solutions than usual: different light refraction techniques, coloured light sources, designer lamps, iridescent surfaces, and a host of clever lighting solutions.

Hello Hungarian Design!

In the permanent thematic block of S/ALON Budapest exhibition, Hello Hungarian Design you can view the latest accessories designed by nearly 60 Hungarian artists, entitled "Memories from the Future".

his time, popular artists of the country will bring space experiences, furnishings and accessories that combine the heritage of the old times with the possibilities of modern technology. The concepts blend traditional craftsmanship and use of materials and interweave this evocation of the past with evolving technologies.

This dichotomy is not only aesthetically interesting, but also has a deeper meaning, linking memories of the past with a vision of the future, providing memories for all ages.

Special furniture and unique manufacturers

Interior design trends for 2025 promote relaxed, comfortable furniture, a style that encourages the creation of uncompromisingly calm spaces. The furniture of the future is as practical and comfortable as it is aesthetically pleasing. According to experts oversized sofas, deep seating armchairs and rounded edges are key elements of the new trend, which blends seamlessly with both modern and classic decor.

With the help of stylists and interior designers, the organisers of the exhibition are creating cosy interiors and unprecedented installations across almost 7,000 square metres, where national and international brands and bespoke furniture manufacturers will showcase their products. By exploring the hundreds of real living spaces that have been built, you can get a better feel for the mood of the space and the furniture you would feel at home in.

Focus on accessories

Every home has its artwork: pictures, sculptures, or wall art, whether it's a family heirloom or a personal creation. S/ALON's living spaces are designed not only to house expensive furniture or luxury products, but also accessories, small decorations and plants that are available to everyone and essential to a good lifestyle. The uniqueness of the interior trend exhibition is enhanced by the fact that all products and exhibits have partner plates with QR codes, so that whatever product you see, you can immediately identify the manufacturer and distributor.

S/ALON BUDAPEST exhibition will be a real treat for those with an eye for beauty, and a one-stop source of information for those looking for clever solutions, new design and practical renovation advice. Live DJ music, a champagne and tapas bar, and room aromatisation add an extra touch an unforgettable visitor experience.
