Watch: Marijuana Protest in Budapest Held on Easter Sunday - 'Shameless Provocation' & 'Baffling' Says Anti-Drugs Chief
A demonstration for legalising marijuana held on Easter Sunday "is a shameless provocation", Laszlo Horvath, the government commissioner for eliminating drug dealing, has said, vowing that the protest would be "the last" of its kind.

As Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus today, the Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party "is organising an event in Budapest on Sunday for the legalisation of marijuana," Horvath said in a post on Facebook, referring to a "baffling theory" which holds that today is also the day of marijuana.

He said that a few days ago the party had encouraged "the masses" to use drugs.

"The Hungarian 'dictatorship' is so strong that a political party can hold a mass event in Hungary on one of the greatest Christian holidays," he said.

"They find nothing sacred, not even on this day."

The issue was not about freedom of expression but an abuse of democratic opportunities, the commissioner said.
