The hotel will be jointly acquired by BDPST Corso Béta, a subsidiary of the BDPST Group, and Liberty Beta Corso, a project company of the Diorit Private Equity Fund.

The new owners aim to continue the successful operation of the hotel and to raise its service level, as well as to exploit synergies with other units of the group.

BDPST owner István Tiborcz said his company entered into the deal after it was approached regarding the sale of the Budapest Marriott.

The completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

The hotel will continue to be managed by Marriott International.

This is one of the best-equipped hotels in the whole city. We see serious potential in its operation, which also provides opportunities for group-level synergies with our other downtown sites. As a professional and financial investor, we will work to ensure that the Budapest Marriott operates successfully over the long term,” said István Tiborcz, owner of the BDPST Group. 

PM Orbán’s son-in-law, the husband of Ráhel Orbán,  Tiborcz added that the future success of the hotel, which also influences the image of Budapest, will have a positive impact on the entire downtown area from both an economic and tourist perspective.
