New Probe into Booking.com Launched by Hungarian Watchdog
Hungary's Competition Office (GVH) on Wednesday announced the launch of a probe of Booking.com on suspicion it misled consumers.

GVH said Booking.com had violated its professional duty to ensure predictable pricing with regard to some services. It also likely misled consumers with discounts linked to various stages of its "Genius" programme, it added.

GVH has an initial three months to conduct the probe.

The watchdog noted that Booking.com had been fined a total of around HUF 3bn earlier for various oversight violations.
