One Key was awarded to Anantara New York Palace Budapest, Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection, Hotel Clark Budapest, Kimpton BEM Budapest, Kozmo Hotel Suites & Spa, Párisi Udvar Hotel Budapest, Verno House, W Budapest, Hotel Petit Bois in Balatonfüred and Platán Manor in Tata.

The Michelin Key is the hotel distinction created by the Michelin Guide to recognise outstanding hotel experiences. Inspectors assess properties anonymously and independently, considering factors including architecture and interior design, service, personality and character, value for money and the contribution a hotel makes to its surroundings.

Two Keys indicate an exceptional stay, while One Key represents a very special stay. The distinction is separate from Michelin Stars, which are awarded to restaurants.

Among the Budapest winners, Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel stands out for its combination of historic architecture and contemporary luxury. Located beside Elisabeth Bridge, the palace was built in the early 20th century and transformed into a hotel while retaining many of its original architectural features. It has 111 rooms and suites and includes Spago by Wolfgang Puck, the rooftop Bar Duchess and the historic Matild Café & Cabaret.

Also of note is Anantara New York Palace Budapest, which occupies the New York Palace building on Erzsébet Boulevard and is closely associated with the famous New York Café. The property combines its elaborate Belle Époque setting with contemporary accommodation and includes the Anantara Spa.

Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection brings together several historic buildings in the city centre near the Danube. The property combines architectural features from different periods with contemporary interiors and has more than 200 rooms and suites, alongside restaurants, bars and wellness facilities.

Kimpton BEM Budapest occupies a restored historic building on the Buda side of the Danube, close to the Castle District. Its 127 rooms and suites combine contemporary design with references to the building's history and Hungarian culture. The hotel also offers restaurants, bars, wellness and fitness facilities.

Kozmo Hotel Suites & Spa is located in central Budapest near the Grand Boulevard and Great Market Hall. The property focuses on spacious accommodation, contemporary design and personalised service, with a spa, swimming pool, fitness facilities and dining options.

Verno House is a boutique hotel in central Budapest near the Danube and Szabadság Square. It offers rooms and suites, wellness facilities and the FLAVA Kitchen & More restaurant and bar.

Outside the capital, Hotel Petit Bois in Balatonfüred and Platán Manor in Tata were the two properties selected for Michelin Keys.

Hotel Petit Bois is housed in a restored historic villa in central Balatonfüred, close to Lake Balaton. The boutique property combines the character of the original building with contemporary interiors and offers wellness facilities and a rooftop bar.

Platán Manor is located beside Tata Castle and the Old Lake and forms part of the historic Platán complex. The property has individually designed rooms and suites, while the wider complex includes the Platán Gourmet restaurant and distinctive wellness facilities.

The 2026 selection is the second year in which the Michelin Guide has awarded Keys to hotels in Hungary. The two Budapest hotels awarded Two Keys retained their previous distinctions, while the country's One Key hotels highlight the range of high-end accommodation available both in the capital and beyond.
