Opposition DK Launches Tour of Hungary
The Democratic Coalition (DK) is touring the country in the next few weeks, when it will present the party's election manifesto and the 150 pledges of its leader, Klara Dobrev, the leftist opposition party's deputy parliamentary group leader, Gergely Arato, told an online press briefing.

Dobrev presented DK's manifesto at the weekend, Arato noted, adding that the programme presented what kind of future DK saw for Hungary and how the party's policies would improve people's lives, such as hiking low pensions by 50 percent and benefits by an average of 25 percent, introducing a "European minimum wage" and holding a referendum on a new constitution.

Among other goals are "restoring the Hungarian Republic", scrapping the "privileges" of churches, and "not allowing those who have never lived in Hungary to vote".

Arato said DK wanted to convince voters who would be otherwise unmotivated to go to polling stations that there was a party worth voting for, insisting that the party offered an alternative to other parties, and a DK government would bring about "real change" with its clear programme.
