Updated: Bottle & Can Returns Hit Record Levels in Hungary

The systems's return rate reached 88.8pc, a fraction under the 90pc target for 2027 established for the European Union.
The returns included 1.5 billion plastic bottles, 1.3bn aluminium cans and over 200 million glass bottles.
Consumers returned 23 bottles and cans, on average, per trip.
The number of DRS return points has risen to around 5,200.
There is a HUF 50 deposit on bottles and cans included in the DRS.
MOHU waste management concession comes under govt scrutiny
The government is scrutinising a 35-year nationwide waste management concession with MOHU, a unit of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, the environment minister said in a post on Facebook on Sunday.
Laszlo Gajdos said talks on the matter had already started.
"We will take every measure to ensure the national interest and the quality of residential service," he added.
