1956 Anniversary Marked in Hungary

The national flag was hoisted and lowered to half-mast in front of Parliament with military honours on Tuesday to mark the anniversary of November 4, 1956, when Hungary's anti-Soviet uprising was crushed.
The ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Kristof Szalay-Bobrovniczky, and the Hungarian military's chief of staff, Gabor Borondi, as well as other high-ranking officers.
Hungary's parliament declared November 4 a national day of mourning in 2013.
