International Cultural Festival, Danube Carnival, Budapest, 6 - 14 June
The Danube Carnival, with a history spanning over a quarter of a century, returns once again to enchant audiences with its vibrant and colourful international cavalcade.

With a history spanning more than a quarter of a century, the Carnival offers a unique and colorful spectacle, enriching the cultural life of the city. While showcasing Hungary’s rich folk dance and music heritage, the event also presents a diverse array of folklore traditions from around the world.

This year, the original carnival spirit will be brought to various locations across Budapest with performances by national ensembles, music bands, and guest artists from abroad. Adult, youth, and children’s groups will represent the professional, traditional, and amateur folk dance communities.

The highlight of the festival is the Gala at the Margaret Island Open Air Stage, where audiences can enjoy performances by guest artists as part of the World Carnival.

In the second part of the evening, Hungarian ensembles will take the stage alongside the Duna Art Ensemble and the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble. In honor of the European Union presidency, they will present a remarkable dance production titled Ode to Joy.

The organizers invite everyone to experience this extraordinary event, where hundreds of Hungarian and international dancers and musicians come together in a celebration of tradition, innovation, and artistic expression.
