The ongoing corruption case around the National Cultural Fund (NKA) is escalating, with the seizure of opposition Fidesz's servers by prosecution office investigators on Tuesday and the arrest of another individual on Wednesday in connection with the investigation, the minister for social relations and culture said on Facebook.
Prime Minister Peter Magyar, addressing MPs in parliament on Tuesday, commented on the committee investigating abuses in enforcement, vehicle fuel prices, the rule of law, public media and the presidential nomination. He also challenged his predecessor, Viktor Orban, to a debate.
Judit Polgar announced on Facebook on Monday evening that she would not accept the nomination for president.
President Tamas Sulyok has signed the 17th amendment to the Fundamental Law, thus his mandate as president will end as of 0:00 on July 20.
