1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
I arrived in 2000 because of a Hungarian girl, like so many of my friends.
2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
No, although I can imagine living in Berlin, it's a great city.
3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
How safe the streets of Budapest feel at night.
4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
Szimpla Kert, no matter what “kert snobs” say, it's the most impressive. A boat ride on the Danube at night is also amazing
5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Töltött káposzta
6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Beers, and milk for tea. Always must have some for potential guests.
7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?
Slusszkulcs. I love the way it sounds.
8. What do you miss the most from home?
English ale.
9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
Nothing really.
10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
Well you have to respect the thankless jobs that some people have to do.
11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Portugal.
12. Where do you hope to spend your next one?
Somewhere in Scandanavia.
13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
I listened non-stop to Queen
14. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?
Milk chocolate
15. Red wine or white?
Red, although white wine fröccs is nice in the summer.
16. Book or movie?
Books, usually music related (currently reading a book by BBC radio DJ Mark Radcliffe).
17. Morning person or night person?
Morning.
18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
I think our disregard for the environment will be costly eventually.
19. Buda side or Pest side?
Pest.
20. What would you say is your personal motto?
It would have to be a line from the Vivian Ellis musical 'Mr. Cinders', made famous by Sting's cover version. The line is "Spread a little happiness as you go by".
