Street Photo Exhibition Commemorates Holocaust In Budapest

A public photo exhibition on the life of Jewish and non-Jewish communities will open outdoors on Budapest’s Corvin Square as part of the programmes commemorating the Holocaust Memorial Year. The photos depict Jews and non- Jews living peacefully side by side “until history and politics interfered”, said the House of Traditions, the organiser.

The Corinthia Hotel Budapest organised a pre-premier screening of the film Grand Budapest Hotel, on Tuesday March 18th. The event took place in the VIP Section of Cinema City at Arena Plaza, where local and international media guests had the pleasure of tasting fine food and drinks before the film commenced.

This was the 10th Anniversary Grand Gala of the Smiling Hospital Foundation. The Smiling Hospital Foundation - whose motto is “Happiness helps healing”-, sends 450 volunteer storytellers, puppeteers, musicians, jugglers, etc. into the children’s ward of 23 hospitals in Hungary.

Heti Válasz asked him of the planned monument to Hungary’s occupation by Germany and the joke cracked by Shimon Peres on “buying up Hungary”.

I went along to The Britannica International School open week. What can be a better way to find out about a school than from the pupils themselves? I had the pleasure of being part of a guided tour for future parents and children led by two charming year 6 pupils.

When it comes to giving, it is said that it is better to give than to receive. This is exactly what the NAWA have been doing a lot of recently. I went along to two events that they were hosting. The first was in a long line of events called “Adopt a Granny” and the other was a gift exchange.
