More Than 9,000 Bicycles Stolen In Hungary Last Year

Last year, 9,056 bicycles were stolen in Hungary, daily Magyar Idok said on Thursday, citing data from the National Police Headquarters (ORFK). The number includes only those bicycles with a value over 50,000 forints (EUR 159), as the police do not keep statistics on the theft of cheaper bicycles, the paper said.

The National Assembly of Hungary voted on Monday to allow authorities to block websites that offer unauthorized livery services, reports Hungarian news site 444.hu. The law, which is scheduled to come into effect over the next month, was approved by MPs with a 119-61 vote, and three abstentions. The bill had been submitted ny Minister of National Development Miklós Seszták.

The technical handover of the Buda intertwining tram network has been completed on December 23, 2015, for the planned deadline, so the intertwined tram traffic can start on January 16, 2016. Currently, smaller defects of the lines are being replaced and the tram drivers are being educated, and the test runs without passengers have started.
