Corruption Widely Accepted In Hungary
- 8 May 2013 9:00 AM
Corruption is an organic part of business life in the view of a large majority of Hungarian executives, according to a survey by consultancy Ernst & Young. Some 70% of respondents take corruption for granted, similar to the 74% East European average, but far above the 39% figure for Western Europe.
Among Hungarian respondents, 18% would donate a small present or service to obtain a contract, but only 5% would give cash. Only 3% are prepared to lie about actual figures.
